This U.S.S. affiliated program allows you to master competitive swimming skills and more. The professional coach in this program provides a well-disciplined, enjoyable and balanced approach to the sport of swimming. The team’s emphasis is on stroke technique, self improvement and good sportsmanship.

Join the Clear Creek Sharks CARA Swim Team.
This swim program has a recreational format where participation in meets and practices by all swimmers is emphasized. Swimmers will develop a strong sense of sportsmanship & fair play, learn the basics and become competent in the skills of swimming, and Have Fun!

Lesson Registration Information
Register early. In order to provide you and your child the highest quality
possible, class size is limited.
Payment is due at registration.
Fee: $25-District $35-Non-district
Classes may be cancelled or combined if they do not meet the minimum
participant number. Minimum 3.

Child must be registered 48 hrs. before class begins.
If you are unsure of your child’s level, ask the Head Lifeguard or
an instructor.

Starfish (3 months up to 5 years)
Prepares young children to become comfortable in the water so they
can be ready to learn how to swim. Parent/Guardian accompaniment
in the water may be required.

Level 1 - (3 years and up)
The objective of this level is to help students gain positive attitudes
towards swimming. Students will begin to feel comfortable in the water
and enjoy the water safely. Proper breathing control, front and back float
and elementary backstroke will also be included.

Level 2 - (5 years and up)
Students will learn to float without support and recover to a vertical position. Students will explore alternating arm and leg actions on the front and back,
retrieving submerged objects, front and back glides. Treading water and
swimming on side will also be introduced.

Level 3 - (5 years and up)
Students entering this course will coordinate the front and back crawl and
will be introduced to the elements of the butterfly. Fundamentals of diving
will also be introduced.

Level 4 - (5 years and up)
The objective of this level is to develop confidence in the strokes learned.
Students will improve their skills and increase their endurance by swimming
the front crawl and back crawl for greater distances. Students will continue
to work on the butterfly and the breaststroke will be introduced.

Level 5 - (5 years and up)
The objective of this level is coordination and refinement of strokes.
(front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breast stroke, elementary backstroke and sidestroke.) Flip turns on the front and back are also introduced.

Level 6 - (5 years and up)
Objective is to refine strokes so students swim them with more ease,
efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. Introduce other
aquatic activities such as personal water safety, diving, fitness/competitive
swimming and lifeguard readiness.

Any age or ability can be accommodated in this individualized format.
Private:
$15/half-hour lesson
$25/hour lesson

Semi-Private Lessons
(2 persons): $18/half-hour lesson; $28/hour lesson

Train To Be A Lifeguard
The Clear Creek Recreation Center is offering the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course. This course is for those who wish to become certified with skills and knowledge to keep patrons of aquatic facilities safe in and around water.
Certifications gained:
bullet Lifeguard Training
bullet CPR/Automatic External Defibrulator
bullet First Aid/Oxygen Administration

Instructor: Matt Robie
MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES!
Fee: $165 - Includes Books, Mask, and Materials

REQUIREMENTS:
1. At least 15 years of age
2. Must swim 500 yards continuously:
200 yards front crawl, 100 yards breaststroke, and
200 yards swimmers choice.
3. Swim 20 yards, surface dive; retrieve brick, return to starting point.
